Passing On is a private digital platform that lets you share the most important aspects of your life with the most important people in your life.
Through a series of carefully curated questions you can record your life story, your memories and your passions to help family and friends get to know you better before its too late.
1. How do I get started?
You can browse through a series of reflective questions on the site, but to save your answers or share them with others, you’ll need to sign up for an account. If you’re invited by a friend or relative, you’ll receive a question via email that prompts you to sign up and answer it.
2. How do I invite others to join the app?
Once you’re registered, you can invite close friends or relatives (referred to as “connections”) by sending them a question via email. They will be prompted to sign up and answer the question to join the site.
3. Is my data private and secure?
Yes, all data is fully encrypted, and hosted in secure servers, ensuring top-level security. Your answers are only shared with the users you specifically choose for each answer.
4. Can I create my own questions?
Absolutely! You can either answer from our database of questions or write your own and send them to your connections. Additionally, the system sends out a “question of the week” to all users.
5. How will I know when someone shares something with me?
You will be notified via email whenever a connection shares an answer or sends you a question. You can also track all activity on your activity page, which keeps you up to date with any shared interactions. In future updates, we’ll add more notification options, like push notifications.
6. Is there a limit on how many questions I can answer or send?
There are no limits! You can answer as many questions as you’d like or send questions to your connections without any daily restrictions. Our database currently contains around 500 questions.
7. Can I see all my answers in one place? Is this a record I can keep?
Yes, you can store your answers to questions and edit them at any time and our Passing On Journal is a great way to have a physical keepsake.
